The third party affiliate to Family Search, TreeSeek, has enabled us to enhance our use of the Family Tree's feature Search Records found on the Person Details Page of a person in our Family Tree on Family Search.  This is the same company that developed Fan Chart and Tree Connect. A third party affiliate is authorized to open our FS/FT when we supply our sign in information as prompted.

Now we can use Source Tracker to see which records are available that have already been added by us and which records are still available that have not been attached to our ancestor yet.  By following the procedures outlined in the lesson we can know what is missing in the sources of an ancestor and we can search more easily for exactly what is missing.

Source Tracker contains all the census records applicable from 1870 to 1940 and some vital records as well.  TreeSeek allows us to connect to our ancestors in Family Tree.  To find the records still needed in Family Search you may have to select various perimeters.  From what I understand at this point, the search perimeter default on the current Person Details Page for Record Search is the first date entered on the person page. So for the other records (like a marriage record or death)) you need to adjust the search perimeters on the left hand side of the Person Details Page. Once you study the lesson below and "put your hands on it" it will make a lot of sense.  Let's all try it this week and we'll discuss in our next staff training meeting.  Here is the link to the lesson.
