The software company Legacy.com hosts a series of Webinars at familytreewebinars.com. These webinars are not free but they are very good. They have 500 archived webinars and it cost around $35.00 for an annual membership.
A few times a year they have free weekends where you can watch as many webinars in their library as you wish. I did that this weekend and watched a really cool one that was given my Thomas MacEntee. It highlighted many of the sites that can be used effectively for genealogy. Dropbox, Evernote, even Zillow.com which is a real estate site. The good thing is it tells you what any home is worth today. But in addition to that, it gives the year when it was built and sometimes even has photos of the interior. Wouldn't that be fun to see inside a home your ancestors lived in during their life time?
Another site he highlighted was one called easybib.com. With this site you can easily create a proper source/citation by just adding in the url and then following the directions for a perfect source to use on the tree. This is a no brainer. Who wants to create a new one for each reference if they don't have to do so?
It reminds me of tinyurl.com. Such a time saver and great resource for streamlining your work. That is what these links and sites are designed for..making this work easier and less labor intensive at every turn. This results in less "paper work" and more time for researching.
